When this template is a good fit

Elementary animal vocabulary review.
ESL practice for common animal nouns.
Homeschool spelling activity with an answer key.
Parent-child activity that can be customized into a new theme.

Customize without breaking the lesson

Change one difficulty variable at a time. Add two words, increase the grid size, or allow diagonals. If you change every setting at once, it becomes harder to know why the puzzle became too easy or too hard.

For younger learners, use short familiar words and keep backward words off. For older learners, add related terms such as HABITAT, MAMMAL, REPTILE, OCEAN, FOREST, or DESERT.

Print and export options

Word Puzzle World supports Copy Puzzle, Copy Answer Key, browser print, direct PDF download, and Microsoft Word export for generated puzzles. The solver can also print or download an answer key after the grid and word list are reviewed.

These options help teachers make classroom copies, save a clean PDF, or edit the worksheet later in Word.

Why this template is useful

The Animal Vocabulary template gives teachers and parents a complete starting point: 10 ready words, a 12x12 grid recommendation, direction settings, classroom use cases, and clear print limits. You can use it as-is for a quick activity or edit the word list for a different lesson.
