What this example helps you learn

Input format

A clean solver input has equal-length rows and a separate word list.

Direction logic

The Solver can find horizontal, vertical, diagonal, forward, and backward words.

Result review

Coordinates make it easier to verify that a highlighted answer matches the grid.

Common input mistakes

  • • One row has an extra or missing letter.
  • • Worksheet instructions are pasted into the grid field.
  • • A typed letter is confused with a similar letter, such as I/L or O/Q.
  • • The word list spelling differs from the puzzle spelling.

Why this example is reliable

The grid, word list, result count, directions, and coordinates all come from the same example used by the Solver. That means you can copy the input, run it yourself, and compare your result with the sample answer key instead of relying on a static screenshot.

Solver example FAQ

Does this example find backward words?

Yes. The solver checks eight directions: left to right, right to left, top to bottom, bottom to top, and the four diagonals.

What if one of my words is missing?

First check the input. A missing word is often caused by one wrong letter, an uneven row, or a word-list spelling difference. Edit the grid or word list, then run the solver again.

Can I edit the grid before solving?

Yes. The Solver uses editable text input, so you can paste the example, fix typed letters, or correct image-scan text before clicking Find Words.

Can I use a photo instead of typing?

Yes. Open the main Solver page to upload, paste, drag in, or take a photo of a clear puzzle image. Review the extracted text before trusting the answer key.

Try your own puzzle next

Use the example to learn the format, then replace the grid and words with your own puzzle. If your puzzle is on paper, use the image guide first and review the extracted text carefully.
